Youth Work

Our goal is to partner with our children and families as they grow in their relationships with Jesus.
We strive to give our children a strong foundation in their faith so that they can build and grow in their faith as they mature. We provide a creative and fun environment that encourages everyone to use their gifts to further their walk with the Lord and to share his love with their families and community.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14.
We take that calling very seriously and offer several programs around the Christian education of our children.
We are blessed to have volunteers happy to teach our children through several different programs. Everyone has been DBS checked and have all taken courses in Safeguarding provided by the Oxford Dioceses.

We are currently seeking a full time Children and Families worker.  In the mean time, Janelle Stevenson is holding the fort.

Coming again soon!

We share Bible stories with our primary aged children on Sunday mornings. Meeting in the Reading Room part way through the 10am service the children hear stories and do crafts as they learn about the Bible. They return to the church for a blessing during Holy Communion.
The second Sunday of the month the children stay with their parents for our all-age service. The service is more casual and easier for children to follow and participate in.
Busy bags, children’s bulletins, books and crafts are always available in our creche area for children of all ages.

Coming again soon!

Children need to be messy sometimes and Messy church is the place to do it. Once a month from 4-5:30m the church comes alive with the sound of children. Songs, crafts and a sit-down tea to keep them going. You are never too old to join in for a bit of messy fun with a purpose.

Coming again soon!

Children maintain a strong presence in the church choir.  Run by Cathy Langdale, our talented, kind and very patient choir mistress, the children attend weekly choir practice and sing at the 10am Sunday service each week.

Trebles are taught to sing both in unison and harmony and receive a very good musical training in theory and singing technique, using RSCM’s Voice for Life programme.

They practise on Fridays from 5.15-6.15pm in the church, followed by supper in the Reading Room from 6.15 until 7pm where they have lots of fun (usually very noisy but great!). Trebles receive pay for Sunday attendance and for weddings.

Senior trebles, aged 9 or 10+ sing at many special services and celebrations

We welcome children aged 7+ who like singing. Do you have a child who would you like to join us?

Please call Cathy Langdale on 01494 581385 or mail her at

Coming again soon!

Yzone (1).jpg

This term, meeting in church, within Covid-19 restrictions

Yzone is a church youth group for people of secondary school age. We meet every Friday evening in the Reading Room on Chalfont St Giles High Street from 7-8.30 to study the Bible, eat biscuits, play games and try our best to stay on topic (with varying success, it must be said!) In the past we’ve studied Parables, Acts, Ruth and Micah as well as looking at topics of philosophy & faith, and the relevance of Christianity to current, real-world issues.

We’re always happy to have visitors, so if you’re 12 -18 and would be interested in Christian fellowship, thought-provoking discussion (sometimes!) and a lot of laughs, you’re very welcome to come and try.

We’re very friendly, promise!
